Ontario Renovates Program
If you’re a low-to-moderate income homeowner in Cornwall, Stormont, Dundas or Glengarry, you can apply for the Ontario Renovates program. Through the program, you can apply for up to $12,000 in financial assistance, including $5,000.00 for accessibility and approved administrative costs. The funding can include a 10-year forgivable loan and/or a grant of $5,000 for accessibility and related costs.
Ontario Renovates is for necessary repairs to:

Single homes
-
Semi-detached homes
-
Townhouse/row houses
-
Mobile homes (where the home is not located on leased land)
Eligible repairs include:

Heating systems (including hot water tank replacement)

Doors and windows
-
Roofs
-
Electrical for health and safety reasons
-
Foundation
-
Insultation
-
Septic systems
-
Wells
Note that the program is not for cosmetic repairs or general maintenance.
Apply for Ontario Renovates
Ontario Renovates is not currently taking applications.
In order to apply for Ontario Renovates, you will need to provide your:

Proof of residency at property
-
Deed/Transfer/Charge
-
Income Tax Notice of Assessment of the previous year
-
Home insurance documents
-
Property Value Assessment (MPAC, tax bill)
-
Municipal Property Taxes up-to-date
-
Up-to-date mortgage information or no mortgage if applicable

Medical note for accessibility modification requests

Two written estimates per project that you can submit at the time of the home visit

Proof of full-time school attendance for 18+ household members if applicable
Qualifications
To qualify, you must:

Be at least 18 years of age

Be the owner of the single-dwelling home and it must be the owner's sole and principal residence in Cornwall Stormont, Dundas or Glengarry with an MPAC Assessment ($450,805)

Meet the household income limit of $88,000 (based on line 23600 of your 2023 Income Tax Notice of Assessment)
