Special Event Licences
If you are planning a public event in the City of Cornwall that involves two or more businesses as defined by the Business Licence By-law, you may need to apply for a Special Event Licence. Events involving road closures, alcohol sales, amplified sound or fireworks may also require more approvals.

Before you start
Please review the Special Event Checklist to understand what permits, approvals and documents you need before applying, including:

Proof of age (if requested)

Proof of $5 million Liability Insurance

Current Business Name Report, Declaration of Partnership or Corporate Profile Report

Letter of Authorization or City of Cornwall facility rental confirmation
Make sure that you apply for your Special Event Licence at least three months before your event. This allows time to process your application, obtain approvals and address any issues in advance. This will help you avoid last-minute delays and focus on planning a successful event.
