Yard and Leaf Waste

The City of Cornwall collects yard waste and leaves weekly as part of our green bin program. Make sure to place all your leaf and yard waste at the curb after 7 p.m. the day before collection or before 7 a.m. the day of collection. You can set out as many bags as you like.

Please make sure that: 

• All leaf and yard waste must be under 22 kgs (50lbs)

• All bundled branches must be in 1 meter long by 3 feet wide sections

• You place all yard waste in paper leaf and yard waste bags or in a labelled reusable container for collection

Restrictions

We will not collect leaf and yard waste bags that contain:

• Dirt and soil

• Flower pots and plastic trays

• Glass

• Gravel and stone

• Large branches

• Plastic bags

• Root balls

• Sod

• Stumps

• Tree trunks

Larger branches

You must schedule a bulky item collection once per month. Please tie the branches in bundles no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet. You can also bring larger branches to the landfill at 2590 Cornwall Centre Rd.

Christmas trees

We will not collect Christmas trees if they are stuck to or on top of a snow bank. Please shovel out a spot for the tree before setting it out for collection.
