Electronics and Hazardous Waste

The City of Cornwall offers programs to help you reduce your garbage, recycle more and dispose of your electronics and hazardous waste.

Dropping off your waste

We do not collect your house hazardous waste at the curbside. You must take your hazardous waste to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot at 2590 Cornwall Centre Rd. You don’t need to report to the scalehouse, you can just follow the signage to the proper building and drop off your hazardous materials for free.

Make sure that you properly seal your waste in a container with no leaks or cracks. The container must not contain a substance that could weaken, break or damage it. All materials need to meet our size and weight requirements:

  • No containers larger than 55 gallon drums

  • Weighs less than 22 kgs (50lbs)

At the depot, we accept:

  • Corrosives including vehicle batteries and drain cleaners

  • E-waste (Electronic Waste) including computers, keyboards, monitors and televisions with no wooden console
