Pay My Water and Sewer Bill

In the City of Cornwall, you can sign up for a pre-authorized payment plan for your water and sewer bills:

  • Due date plan: We withdraw your full bill amount on its due date
  • Monthly plan: We split your annual bill into ten monthly payments, withdrawn on either the 1st or 15th of the month

If you are not on a pre-authorized plan or you select the due date plan, your bills are due twice a year:

  • Streets A to K: Last business day of January and July
  • Streets L to Y: Last business day of April and October

Apply for the Pre-authorized Payment Plan

To enrol, please mail or drop off your completed Pre-authorized Payment Plan application along with a void cheque to:

  • PO Box 877 Cornwall ON K6H 5T9

Make sure to attach an unsigned cheque with "VOID" written across it with your application. The cheque must show your bank transit and account numbers.

After you sign up

Your bill will show "Preauthorized" once the sign-up is complete. Until you see this, please keep paying your bills as you normally would. Please note that we may cancel your pre-authorized payment plan if two payments are not honoured by your bank.

Cancelling, moving or changing your bank account

If you would like to cancel your plan or if you’re moving or need to change your bank account information, please notify us at 613-930-2787 ext. 2317 and send us a completed Cancellation or Account Information Change Form.

Metered rates

After your water meter is installed, you will continue to pay a flat rate for your water. Your bill will not change right away. Starting in early 2027, your bill will be based on the amount of water you use, as measured by your new meter. You will receive one bill for each meter at your property. We will share more information about the new water rates and how to prepare in 2026.
