Youth Climate Action Working Group
Cornwall’s Youth for Climate Action Working Group (YFCA) aims to help create a zero-carbon, climate-resilient Cornwall that is attractive and safe for all residents to live and work with pride.
The group provides young people in the community with:
-
A platform to influence how the City responds to climate change and extreme weather events
-
Insight into how the City plans to tackle climate change issues
-
Opportunities to learn, engage and give feedback on climate change issues
-
The ability to empower residents to take action and take responsibility for their behaviours
-
A role as ambassadors for the actions the City, Council and partner organizations are taking on climate change
-
Opportunities to explore nature-based solutions that can help the City fight climate change and biodiversity loss
-
The chance to establish links with other community groups and external agencies representing young people
-
The ability to promote and demonstrate zero carbon behaviours in their daily lives as much as possible
YFCA is accountable to the City of Cornwall at all times. Meeting minutes and other panel documents will be made available to Council members or Senior Management upon request.
