If you're planning to renovate, repair or make your home more energy-efficient in the City of Cornwall, you may be able to apply for financial help. Learn about the programs available in our community and how to apply.

Ontario Renovates

If you’re a low-to-moderate income homeowner in Cornwall, Stormont, Dundas or Glengarry, you can apply for the Ontario Renovates program. Through the program, you can apply for up to $12,000 in financial assistance, including $5,000.00 for accessibility and approved administrative costs. The funding can include a 10-year forgivable loan and/or a grant of $5,000 for accessibility and related costs.

Canada Greener Homes Grant

The Canada Greener Homes Grant provides support to help you make your home more energy-efficient. This leads to a more comfortable living space and lower energy bills. The program supports environmental goals by helping lower Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Home Winterproofing Program

The Enbridge Home Winterproofing Program will install free energy-saving upgrades in your home based on your income. The goal is to reduce your energy use, lower your heating and cooling costs, and improve your comfort by: 

• Adding insulation

• Sealing drafts

• Installing a smart thermostat

Smart Thermostat Program

You can apply for a $75 instant discount on a smart thermostat through the Enbridge Smart Thermostat Program. A new smart thermostat can lower your heating and cooling costs by up to 23% and make your home more comfortable. Energy Efficient Housing Program

The Sagen Energy Efficient Housing Program gives you significant savings for buying an energy-efficient home or making energy-saving renovations.

Energy Affordability Program

The Save On Energy - Energy Affordability Program can help make your home more efficient at no cost. You can apply for free upgrades tailored to your home, so you can save money and be more comfortable.
