Bag Tags and Bins

If you would like to set out more bags than the allowed limit for garbage collection in the City of Cornwall, you must buy and use bag tags. 

You can buy bag tags in sheets of 10 for $15 at:

• City Hall at 360 Pitt St

• Landfill Site (Scale House) at 2590 Cornwall Centre Rd

• Pop Shoppe at 101 Emma Ave

• Short Line Convenience at 1300 Second St W

• Fence Depot at 3045 Pitt St

• Fullerton Drugs at 170 Pitt St

• MacEwen's at 1030 McConnell Ave

• MacEwen's at 201 Second St W

Using bag tags

Make sure that you attach your tags to your clear bags like a flag, making sure they are fully visible. Do not cut or alter the tags, and secure them firmly so they cannot be removed or blown away.

When using your bag tags with garbage cans, make sure that you:

• Always have two tags regardless of a garbage can’s contents

• Make sure the tags are visible and you’ve securely attached them so they will not blow away

• Have two tags attached to a heavy item at the top if there’s loose garbage

• Have two tags attached at the top for any garbage bags in a can

• Do not stick tags directly on the garbage can

Buy a can or bin

You can buy rolling garbage and recycling bins with a lid at the landfill by appointment. Please email us [link to email] or call 613-937-1777 to book your appointment. The City sells bins at cost, meaning we charge you the same price we paid for them. Bin prices including tax are:

• 32-gallon bins: $65

• 64-gallon bins: $100

• 95-gallon bins: $118

For residential use, you may only buy a 95-gallon recycling bin. The 95-gallon garbage cans are reserved for commercial properties.

Small recycling bins

You can buy small square recycling bins without lids for $5.80 including tax at:

• City Hall at 360 Pitt St - Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Landfill at 2590 Cornwall Centre Rd - Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
