Work Order Reports
Work Order Reports are typically requested by lawyers for a property transaction or financing.
A Work Order Report will list the following:
- The status of any open building permits and outstanding work orders for municipal by-laws.
- The property’s Zoning, Official Plan Designation and MPAC Description,
- Whether it is a designated Heritage property.
- Whether the property is subject to Site Plan Control.
- Any relevant Committee of Adjustment decisions.

Zoning Compliance Letters
These letters certify that a particular land use is permitted in a zone. They are usually required by provincial approval authorities and lenders.

Agreement Compliance Letters
Agreement Compliance Letters provide a brief update on the status of any approvals or agreements (i.e. site plan, subdivision, condominium, etc.) associated with the subject property.
These letters can be requested by filling out this form and submitted by email to planning@cornwall.ca.
The fee is $ 320 plus $ 130 per hour above one hour of staff time. The total fee will be verified upon completion of the review at which time Planning staff will contact you for payment.
ESA Phase 1 Letter
An ESA Phase 1 Letter provides a list of any relevant municipal records to aid in the preparation of a Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment for a property, and have a turnaround time of 10 to 15 business days.
Phase 1 ESA Letters and must be requested by filling out this form and can be submitted by email to planning@cornwall.ca. Payment is accepted by cheque or by credit/debit card.
Payment
Payment for Planning Services can be made by cheque payable to “The Corporation of the City of Cornwall,” or by credit/debit card over the phone or in person. Please note that the review of any of the above mentioned Planning Services requests will commence only once the payment is received, except for Agreement Compliance Letters. Credit/debit card payments are subject to a 3% surcharge. Payment by phone can be arranged by contacting Ely Daniels at 613-930-2787 ext. 2328.
