Photo of a recent fireCornwall Fire Services (CFS) responded to two structure fires in four days.
The first fire occurred on November 26th at 7:00 pm in the area of McConnell Ave and First St East, whereas the second fire occurred on November 29th in the area of Walton St. and Carleton St. One individual was treated by Paramedics on scene and transported to hospital for smoke inhalation. Three family pets perished in the Walton and Carleton area fire.

Downtown ParkingResidents and visitors looking to shop and dine local will be able to park free earlier starting in December.
Cornwall City Council recently approved a request to offer free parking downtown and in Le Village from 4-6 p.m. each week day in December. Parking is regularly free after 6 p.m., and free on Saturday and Sunday.

Overnight ParkingLike many other communities, the City of Cornwall has overnight winter parking restrictions in place during the winter season.
These restrictions are necessary in order to ensure snow clearing activities can be completed in a safe and effective manner.

Cornwall's Youth for Climate Action Working GroupCornwall’s Youth for Climate Action Working Group held its first in-person meeting on Monday, October 17. The Group meets once a month during the school year.

PRESS RELEASE - Contactless PaymentContactless payment is coming to Cornwall Transit on November 1 st .
The new service will allow for riders to use a reloadable or disposable contactless smartcard to pay for their fare. You will be able to add your products to your reloadable smartcard through an online portal called “ UseTransit ”. PlantingThanks to a grant from TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, the City of Cornwall has added more trees and gardens to public property. Two parkettes have been created. One at Belfort Crescent, behind Food Basics, and one at Brookdale and Second Street. Both sites include educational pollinator gardens.
