Accessibility Advisory Committee
The Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee gives advice to Council once a year. This advice helps with preparing, implementing and reviewing the City of Cornwall's Accessibility Plan.
What the committee does
The committee helps the City meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2005. You can expect the committee to provide vision and advice to Council for creating an accessible and inclusive community.
The committee:

Guides the preparation, review and amendment of the City's Accessibility Plan

Conducts annual reviews of the Plan

Acts as an advisory body to Council on accessibility matters, community input and accessibility-related complaints

Acts as a review agency (sub-committee) for selected development Site Plans

Provides public education campaigns and public forum workshops on the importance of accessibility in and for the community

Provides guidance on capital budget priorities for the City and affiliated agencies
