Declaration of Interests
A declaration of interest is a formal way for a Council member to disclose potential financial or personal interests. These interests could affect their judgment or create a conflict of interest.
When a Council member discloses an interest at a meeting, they must file a written Declaration of Interest statement. The statement must describe the interest and its general nature.
