Our Home Child Care Agency is operated by the City of Cornwall and is licensed through the Ministry of Education.
We offer full-time and part-time home-based child care in a family setting that is equitable, affordable and accessible to all residents of the City of Cornwall and the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry.
Licensed Home Child Care provides children with a warm, loving, inclusive, safe and stimulating environment as well as offering a sense of security for parents and a supportive environment for child care providers.

Our program aims to match each child and family with a compatible provider in his/her community. The Home Child Care Agency offers high quality full fee and subsidized child care for infants to 12 years of age. Full time and part-time child care arrangements are available, including flexible hours. Among the many advantages of this type of care are the smaller child to provider ratio. We offer the support of our team of professionals to the parents and providers. Parents can be confident that their child is receiving quality care. The provider is carefully screened through a comprehensive screening process and home assessment by a highly skilled child care advisor. Screening includes the following:
Each home child care provider must follow directives regarding health and safety, nutrition, activities, as well as number and ages of children permitted as set out by the agency and the Ministry of Education. Home child care providers are limited to 6 day care children. Her own children are included in the following age and number restrictions for children under the age of 6 years:
Each home is visited routinely by a child care advisor trained in Early Childhood Education who offers ongoing support and guidance, and ensures that the requirements of the Child Care and Early Years Act are met. The child care advisor will monitor and make certain that the physical, emotional and social needs of your child is being met. Your child will have access to many resources such as equipment, age appropriate toys, arts and craft materials, books, playgroups and special events. You have access to support from child care professionals on child development. We believe close cooperation and communication between the three partners of the "team" - parent, provider and child care advisor is key to a successful child care relationship.
