Cornwall Launches Youth Ambassador Program to Engage Students in Local Government On September 22, Council unanimously approved the Cornwall Youth Ambassador Program, an initiative that will bring together students from each participating high school in Cornwall to act as representatives of their community. Mayor Justin Towndale introduced the motion to strike the initiative, focused on updating the former Youth Advisory Committee, with the goal of actively engaging youth in municipal activities and encouraging their participation in local government decision-making processes.

Mayor’s Task Force on Medical Recruitment Recommendations Approved by Council On September 22, 2025, Council endorsed 18 recommendations from the Mayor’s Task Force on Medical Recruitment to help improve access to primary and emergency health care services in Cornwall. “For over 30 years, the City of Cornwall has offered funding programs in attempts to attract more physicians to our community,” said Mayor Justin Towndale.
