Medical Recruitment and Scholarships
The City of Cornwall offers a Medical Recruitment Program to help doctors establish their practices. As a physician or specialist deemed necessary by the Cornwall Community Hospital and the City, you can receive up to $25,000 to offset office setup costs.
Apply for a scholarship
The City of Cornwall Medical Scholarship provides $25,000 per year for up to six years to a qualified medical student. If selected, you sign a legal agreement with the City of Cornwall. Within three months of obtaining certification from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, you must start a Family Practice in Cornwall for at least five years, including admitting hospital privileges.
Eligibility
You must:

Be a permanent resident of Cornwall or the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry

Be accepted into or currently enrolled full-time in a Canadian Faculty of Medicine, intending to qualify for Family Medicine practice in Ontario
