Parking

The City of Cornwall provides on-street and lot parking downtown and in Le Village. You can pay for parking using the HotSpot app, pay parking tickets and order day-use and 24-hour permits online. You can find a place to park using our interactive map.

Pay for parking

You can pay for parking using a nearby pay-by-plate machine, meter or the HotSpot app on your phone. Parking costs $1.80 per hour, up to 12 hours, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. If a machine isn't working, you can call us at 613-930-2787 ext. 2225. You can also use free 15-minute stalls marked by yellow lines and signs.

Pay with the HotSpot app

You can use the HotSpot app to pay for parking. No coins or trips back to the meter needed. Download the free app on your iPhone or Android device.

After registering your licence plate and credit card, follow these steps to park:

  • Add funds to your virtual wallet

  • Go to Parking, then select your Meter/Zone Number, Time and City

  • Tap 'Park' and if you have funds in your account, your session will start

During your session, you can:

  • Add more time (15 minutes minimum, 5 hours maximum)

  • End early by tapping 'Refund Session' and then 'End Session' and any remaining time will be refunded to your account

HotSpot fees are:

  • $0.42 for 15 minutes

  • $0.85 for 30 minutes

  • $1.70 for 1 hour

  • $3.00 for overnight parking

A convenience fee of $.30 applies to each transaction.

Overnight parking service

You can park overnight at two municipal lots from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m., any day of the week, for a $3 fee. You can pay for parking using the HotSpot app or a Pay-by-Plate machine on-site. Please ensure you park only in the designated stalls at:

  • Warrington Brown lot at 39 First St E, behind Kastner’s

  • Freddy’s lot at 342 Montreal Rd, east of the police station

Paid parking at Lamoureux Park boat launch

You must pay to park your boat trailer at the Lamoureux Park boat launch in the east parking area behind the RCAF wing. Park your trailer and towing vehicle only in the designated boat trailer areas. For the exact location, please view the Boat Launch Parking Map

Cars do not need to pay and must not park in the boat trailer stalls. You can use the overflow grass parking if needed, but you must still pay the parking fee.

You can buy a boat trailer parking permit for $10 a day, $40 a month, or $100 a season.

You can pay for a permit by:

  • Ordering a daily, monthly or seasonal permit online (have your license plate information and credit card ready)

  • Buying a daily permit at the on-site parking machine

  • Visiting the Building and By-Law department at 100 Water St E, 2nd floor (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)

You can register up to three plates on a permit, but at least one must be a trailer. Your parking fees fund boat launch improvements, like the docks installed at Lamoureux Park and Guindon Park.

Accessible parking

You must display a registered accessible parking permit to use any space marked with the official wheelchair symbol. With a permit, you can park for free in metered areas and municipal lots for up to three hours. You could receive a $300 fine for parking in an accessible space without a permit.

You can apply for an accessible parking permit through Service Ontario or the Ministry of Transportation's Driver and Vehicle Licence Offices, where you will find the full eligibility criteria.

Free parking for veterans

If you have a veteran licence plate, you can park for free in the City of Cornwall in:

  • On-street metered stalls

  • Municipal parking lots

Your vehicle must be driven by a veteran or have a veteran as a passenger at the time of parking. Free parking does not apply to designated permit stalls, such as 24-hour parking spots.
