Background 

The City will be replacing the retaining wall(s) along the Montreal Road recreational path, from Dunbar Avenue to Boundary Road in 2024.

This project involves removing the existing small block retaining wall systems along the waterfront recreational path and installing a new large block retaining wall system.

What to Expect During Construction

The project will involve the following work/stages:

1. Removal of the existing retaining wall system(s) in sections.
2. Excavation and base preparation for the new block retaining wall.
3. Installation of the new retaining wall system.
4. Restoration (topsoil and sod, entrance repairs, etc.).
5. Resurfacing (paving) the recreational path.

Before the work starts, you may see utility companies (Enbridge, Bell, etc.) on your street. They are moving their infrastructure to accommodate the work. If you have any service disruptions, please contact them directly.

There may be days where you don't see the Contractor on site in between the different stages of construction. This is a normal part of the process. The Contractor has many crews that do different types of work.
