  • CFS responded to an industrial fire CORNWALL, ON – March 26th, 2024 - Cornwall Fire Services (CFS) responded to an industrial fire at 820 Campbell St at Done Right Roofing on March 25th, 2024.  We received several 911 calls at 4:15 pm indicating heavy smoke and fire in the area of Campbell and Copeland St.
  • Changes Coming to 911 System Prioritization Cornwall, ON - March 21, 2024 - The Cornwall SDG Paramedic Service, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other partners, is set to implement changes to its 911 dispatch system on April 10, 2024, at 9:00 PM. The alterations to the dispatch priority system aim to prioritize ambulatory care so that the sickest people get the fastest response.
  • City and union accept new collective agreement, averting strike CORNWALL, ON - March 20, 2024 - The City of Cornwall and members of Local 234 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) have formally agreed to a new collective agreement for 113 municipal works employees. Union members voted to accept the agreement on March 1.
  • Conservation authority issues Water Safety Statement for Cornwall and Area On March 8, 2024, the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) issued the following Water Safety Statement for the RRCA jurisdiction (including the City of Cornwall). The current short-term weather forecast indicates that a low-pressure system will bring widespread rain across southern Ontario this weekend.
  • Winter parking restrictions have been modified Please be advised that the full winter parking restrictions have been modified to the following : No person shall park a vehicle or permit a vehicle to remain parked on any highway or municipal parking lot between the hours of 1:00 am of one day and 7:00 am of the same day between March 1st and March 31st, when Environment Canada forecasts a snowfall of 5 cm or more, as per By-Law #175-15.
  • Reduced Load Limits Notice (1) Please take notice that, under authority of Bylaw no. 069-1989 and amendments, reduced load limits are in effect from February 21, 2024 to May 3, 2024 on the following streets in the city of Cornwall; Weather conditions will be monitored and the date that reduced loads are removed may change.
