Pick-Up Dates and Location: Location: Cornwall Ontario Works Main Office (340 Pitt St, 4th floor) Dates: Friday, November 29, 2024 Monday, December 2, 2024 Times: 8:30am to 11:45am and 1:15pm to 4:15pm Landlords and third parties, you can also pick up payments during these hours.
  • Tree of Hope Tree Lighting Event The Akwesasne Family Wellness Program, Cornwall Police and the City of Cornwall are proud to announce the Tree of Hope tree lighting event, which will take place on December 5, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lamoureux Park, near the clock tower. This event aims to honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and two-spirit people .

The Year in Review report summarizes major private and public sector development activity that has occurred in Cornwall over the past 12 months.
  • Portion of Boundary Road Closed on November 26 & 27 Boundary Road will be closed at the CN Rail Crossing on November 26th & 27th inclusive for Track Repairs. Detours will be on Marleau Avenue, Nick Kaneb Drive, Tenth Street E, Industrial Park Drive for both directions.
  • City of Cornwall Initiates Curbside Organics Pick-Up in January 2025 The City of Cornwall is pleased to announce the commencement of the delivery of green bins throughout the city this month, in preparation for the curbside organics pick-up program set to launch in January 2025. Residential and multi-residential properties will also receive a kitchen catcher bin.

  • City of Cornwall to host exciting World Junior Championship games The pre-tournament schedule for the 2025 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championship has been announced, and the City of Cornwall is pleased to announce that the it has been selected as one of seven communities to host games from December 19 to 23. In total, 11 games will be played throughout Eastern Ontario on the Road to the World Juniors.
  • City of Cornwall Hosts 2nd Resident Café to Discuss 2025 Budget The City of Cornwall is pleased to announce its 2nd Resident Café, an engaging opportunity for residents to learn about the 2025 budget and interact with various front-facing service departments. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 5 pm to 6 pm in the Salons at the Cornwall Civic Complex.
  • Cornwall’s Youth for Climate Action Unveils Inspiring New Video Students from Cornwall’s Youth for Climate Action Working Group (YFCA) have launched a powerful and inspiring video, recorded and edited by Jeremy Baxter, to promote environmental consciousness and sustainable practices among the city’s youth. The video features several notable YFCA members, including recent graduates Dolev Klein Harari and Anita Bedi, who are now studying at Queen’s University in Kingston, and current leaders like Abdul Rahman Khan, Yasmine Reda and Haeley Njihia from Holy Trinity, and Sharon Ilori from La Citadelle.
  • Give A Shirt Campaign Returns Oct 21-25 The City of Cornwall’s popular Give a Shirt campaign is back once more and with a hefty goal — to collect over 5 tones of recycled textiles. From October 21 until October 25, residents are invited to donate gently used clothing, bedding, and shoes.
