Important Updates: Tax Bills, Ontario Works, and Housing Services During Canada Post Strike

During the ongoing Canada Post strike, the City of Cornwall is committed to ensuring residents continue to have access to important Tax and Human Services information without interruption. This page outlines alternative methods for receiving your tax bills, Ontario Works statements, and housing services support, so you can stay informed and up-to-date even while regular mail services are disrupted. Tax and Water Bills

Tax bill due dates will remain unchanged due to the Canada Post strike. Any payments can continue to be made by signing up for Pre-Authorized Payment Plans (PAP), via most banking institutions or in-person at City Hall.

Human Services -- 340 Pitt Street Operations

For Ontario Works, Recipient cheques/DBD/RPC statements will mailed by default, unless other arrangements have been made directly with the office.

Landlords/third parties will also be mailed by default,  unless other arrangements have been made directly with the office.

For Housing, all cheques will be mailed by default, unless other arrangements have been made directly with the office.

Human Services – 550 Ninth Street

Any community housing tenants living at locations managed by the City, that are scheduled for a Landlord Tenant Board hearing will  continue to be notified by personal delivery.

Landlord and vendor payments will be mailed by default, unless other arrangements have been made directly with the office.
