Cornwall Counts Down to the Grand Opening of New Arts Centre
The City of Cornwall is excited to announce that the final stages of construction for the highly anticipated Arts Centre are underway, with a Grand Opening officially planned for Fall 2026.
To keep the community engaged during this final phase, a new bilingual progress sign has been installed on the Arts Centre fence. This visual "countdown" allows residents and visitors to track the project’s completion in real-time as crews work to put the finishing touches on the facility.
"We wanted a fun, visual way for the community to share in the excitement as we reach the home stretch," says Shauna Baggs, Art, Culture and Tourism, Supervisor. "This sign represents more than just construction milestones; it represents the coming together of our arts, music, and performance communities in a dedicated home."
The progress tracker, featuring both English and French, currently sits at the 60% completion mark for this final phase. As the project nears its conclusion, the community can look forward to a grand opening celebration that will showcase the full versatility of the space—from theatre and dance to visual arts and music.
Plans for the grand opening are currently being developed in collaboration with local arts committees, with an emphasis on possible immersive tours and live performances to welcome the public into the new cultural hub.
