Tax Department relocating to Cornwall Civic Complex

The City of Cornwall Tax Department will relocate to the main floor of the Cornwall Civic Complex at 100 Water St. East, effective Monday, July 13, 2026. To support the move, the Tax Department will be temporarily closed on Friday, July 10, with full services resuming at the new location on Monday, July 13.

The relocation will place the Tax Department alongside the rest of Financial Services, as well as other front-facing City services already located at the Civic Complex, including Building, Planning, By-law, and the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre.

“This move will make it easier for residents and businesses to access tax and water billing services in a central, convenient location,” said Mike Carriere, Supervisor of Property Tax and Assessment. “We appreciate the public’s patience during the short closure and look forward to welcoming residents to our new office at the Civic Complex.”

With this relocation, in-person tax and water payments will no longer be accepted at City Hall. The secure drop box at City Hall will remain available, and online banking and pre-authorized payment methods remain unchanged. Free parking is available on-site at the Civic Complex.
