Summer Heat Relief & Safety

As hot and humid weather is expected throughout the summer season in Cornwall, it's essential to stay prepared and make necessary adjustments for your safety and comfort. The City of Cornwall is taking steps to assist residents during periods of extreme heat.

Our Splash Pads are open daily from 8am to 8pm:

• Lamoureux Park: Located along Water Street in Downtown Cornwall.
• Riverdale Park: Located at Dover Street and Riverdale Avenue.
• Park of Hope/St. Theresa Park: Corner of Thirteenth Street and Churchill Street.

The City's outdoor pools are open and operational for regular summer hours, and residents can also cool down indoors at the Cornwall Aquatic Centre pool:

• Monday – Thursday: 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Sunday: Closed)

Note: Modified Civic Holiday hours on Monday, August 3 (Open 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.).

Benson Centre:

• Weekends: Hours depend on programming; varies weekly

Cornwall Public Library:

• Mon-Fri: 9:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m., Fri-Sat: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday: closed. Learn more.

Cornwall Civic Complex:

• Opens at 7:00 a.m. Monday – Friday (closing times vary based on scheduled events; typically 8:00 p.m. on Mondays and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday – Friday).
• Weekends: Hours vary based on scheduled events.

Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, limit time in the sun, take frequent rests, check on vulnerable family members and neighbours, and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.
