Statement from Mayor Towndale- August 10, 2026

On August 10, 2026, a tragic incident took place in our community whereby an individual was in distress and passed away. 

On behalf of the community, I offer condolences to the family and friends of the individual. You are in our collective thoughts during this difficult time. 

Echoing Cornwall Police Service Deputy Chief Chad Maxwell, I would ask that everyone please respect the privacy of those who are affected. 

I want to thank all the first responders who were involved in the response and for their efforts and professionalism during this incident.
