RRCA Issues Flood Warning

The City of Cornwall is sharing a flood warning issued by the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA), effective until Monday, March 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.

Current conditions:

Recent warm temperatures and forecasted rainfall (up to 30 mm) are resulting in additional snowmelt. Many creeks are approaching bank-full conditions.

Risks and impacts:

  • Flooding is expected within inland rivers throughout the jurisdiction.
  • Low-lying roads, farm lanes, and driveways may be susceptible to flooding.
  • Residents should stay away from all watercourses due to high levels, fast-flowing water, and unstable banks.

Safety precautions residents in flood-prone areas should:

  • Secure items that might float away.
  • Move items from basements or lower floors.
  • Ensure sump pumps and backwater valves are in good working condition.

The City of Cornwall and the RRCA will continue to monitor water levels. For real-time updates, please visit rrca.on.ca.
