PUBLIC NOTICE: “New” Community Safety Zones

NOTICE is hereby given that The Corporation of the City of Cornwall has amended the Traffic and Parking By-Law 069-1989 to establish Community Safety Zones on the following streets:

1. Fourth Street E. between Sydney Street and Gloucester Street
2. Fifth Street E. between Gloucester Street and Sydney Street
3. Sydney Street between Second Street E. and Fifth Street E.
4. Ninth Street E. between Sydney Street and Marlborough Street

The locations have been chosen to raise awareness to schools in the area, multiple crossing guard locations and near municipal parks.

Drivers are urged to follow the posted speed limits and adjust to the new community safety zones and have awareness of the increased fines for traffic violations.

New Community Safety Zone signage will be erected in the coming months, and enforcement of these zones will commence immediately upon installation.
