Cornwall Public Library Invites the Community to Get "Down to Earth" at the Summer Reading Club Celebration

The Cornwall Public Library is wrapping up a summer of discovery and fun with its annual Summer Reading Club Celebration. Club participants, local families, and young readers are invited to join in the festivities at the library on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

This free event marks the grand finale of this year’s Summer Reading Club program, highlighting the achievements of participants throughout the season. Attendees can look forward to a full lineup of family-friendly fun, including games, henna art, and staggered activities throughout the day.

Summer Reading Club members who completed their reading booklets can pick up their certificate of completion during the event. Main prizes for the participants of the club will be awarded, and the winners will be contacted before the day of the celebration.

With a theme of “Down to Earth”, the summer programming has focused on environmental impact. A wide range of topics were covered, from protecting pollinators and learning about invasive species, to waste reduction and scientific exploration. It’s not too late to attend! Children signed up for the club and those who didn’t get a chance to enroll are welcome to join programming, which runs right up until the day of the celebration.

The Summer Reading Club has been made possible by community partners, including the Rotary Club of Cornwall, Cornwall Transit, the River Institute, and the City of Cornwall.
