Bridge Housing Planning & Next Steps
The City of Cornwall would like to provide residents with an update on the ongoing work to expand bridge housing options within our community.
Over the past several weeks, City staff have been reviewing additional potential sites that could help provide safe, stable, temporary housing for individuals who need support while transitioning toward permanent housing. As part of these efforts, the City has identified two additional sites for potential bridge housing projects. These sites will be reviewed as part of the broader planning process to ensure they meet community needs and align with strategic goals.
Since this broader review is underway, the proposed use of 800 Twelfth Street East site is currently on hold and will be considered by Council as part of the three potential sites.
As we move forward, the City is committed to ensuring residents have clear information and meaningful opportunities to engage. Our goal is to make sure the community is fully informed, can ask questions, and understand how each option fits into Cornwall’s broader housing and homelessness strategy.
