Seniors, take note! The City of Cornwall's Senior-Friendly Community Committee is pleased to announce the return of the Seniors on Wheels program this summer!
The program features two Ami Trishaw bikes where passengers are seated in the front making it easy to step in and out of. Seating in the front also allows unobstructed views to enjoy the beautiful scenery along a network of paved pathways in Lamoureux Park.
How it works
It's free to use the trishaw!
- There is seating for two passengers
- Each trishaw can comfortably seat two passengers.
- Enjoy a relaxing 30-minute ride.
- For your safety, passengers are encouraged to wear a helmet, though it’s at their discretion. However, wearing a seatbelt is mandatory.
- The electric trishaws are operated by trained Cornwall Tourism ambassadors, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
Where to find us
The Seniors on Wheels program operates out of the Cornwall Tourism visitor information centre, located in front of the Cornwall Civic Complex – Aquatic Centre. Look for the large blue container near the front entrance – you can’t miss it!
Passenger pick-ups and drop-offs will conveniently take place at the visitor information centre. There’s plenty of free parking available in the laneway leading to the Cornwall Civic Complex and in the main parking lot.

Project Background
The trishaw is available thanks to a New Horizons Grant. The Senior-Friendly Community Committee spearheaded the Trishaw Project as part of their mandate to...
- reduce organizational, social, and physical barriers that prevent seniors from fully engaging in community activities
- to provide a healthy community by focusing on the World Health Organization's identified key areas such as transportation, housing, social participation - to name a few
The Rotary Club Sunrise has supported this project with a $3,000 donation.
