The City of Cornwall is protected by Cornwall Fire Services, a force of 56 Firefighters, 3 Fire Prevention Officers, 1 Training Officer, and 1 fire department mechanic; all supported by a staff of day-workers, including a Fire Chief, 2 Deputy Chiefs, and an Administrative Assistant. Four platoons consist of one platoon chief, two captains, and eleven firefighters each.

Cornwall Fire Services is multi-disciplinary and responds to fires, water and ice incidents, dangerous goods incidents, and emergency medical responses. Staff also perform public education and fire prevention initiatives.

Booking a Station Tour

Fire Station Tours are an opportunity to see and learn about modern firefighting equipment, including fire trucks, and to ask firefighters those questions you’ve always wanted to. Tours are offered at Headquarter Station,10 Fourth Street West, and may last approximately 30 minutes - 1 hr depending on the request.

Station tours are scheduled by the On-Duty Platoon Chief.  Please contact 613-930-2787 ext. 2393 to book yours today!

Apparatus and Mechanic

Cornwall Fire Services is fortunate to have its own mechanical officer on site.  The mechanic ensures all Fire Service vehicles and related equipment are maintained in excellent working condition. Cornwall Fire Services equipment includes two aerial platforms, four pumper trucks, one rescue truck, one rescue boat, and five service vehicles.
