Cornwall Parks and Trails are Smoke-Free
The City of Cornwall’s parks and recreational paths are smoke-free as per By-law 2020-040.
This includes…
- Smoking, carrying, holding, or inhaling a lighted cigar, cigarette, cannabis, or pipe,
- Vaping, and
- Spaces that are within 20 metres of any recreational path, except for private residences, the boundaries of a highway, and the RCAFA Wing 424.
Residents may report illegal smoking to the City of Cornwall’s by-law department at 613-930-2787 ext. 2310 or to the Eastern Ontario Health Unit at 1-800-267-7120.

- parks,
- recreational paths, and
- City facilities

Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017:
- enclosed public spaces,
- enclosed workplaces,
- sheltered areas with a roof and more than 2 walls,
- child care centres,
- places where an Early Years program or service is provided,
- places where home child care is provided,
- children's playgrounds and public areas within 20 metres of them,
- within 20 metres of the property of a school,
- within 20 metres of the property of a community centre,
- outdoor grounds of a hospital or psychiatric facility,
- within a 9-metre radius of all entrances and exits to all long-term care homes,
- enclosed common areas of multi-unit dwellings,
- within a 9-metre radius of bar or restaurant patios,
- reserved seating area of sports arena or entertainment venue,
- publicly owned sporting areas, and
- vehicles with an individual that is less than 16 years of age.
