Join us on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Benson Centre!

Eco Day is a family-friendly event that provides knowledge, tools, and encouragement to help the Cornwall community connect with nature and live a more sustainable life. Every year organizations, clubs, and businesses are invited to attend to showcase their environmental/climate action/sustainable projects and offerings.

 What to expect at the City's 6th Annual Eco Day:

  • Learn about local efforts to promote environmental sustainability by talking to City departments, organizations, clubs, and businesses.
  • Free mulch and compost, courtesy of the City’s Parks Department 
  • Electronic waste drop-off
  • Hybrid transit bus on-site and opportunity to try the bike rack

    • At the art station, learn to paint native wildlife using watercolours

What to bring: 

  • A bag, bin, or bucket to transport free mulch and compost
  • Electronic waste to be recycled. Only items smaller than a breadbox please
  • Gently used eyeglasses to be donated to those in need
  • Black garbage bags to be donated to charities in need 
  • Old clothing and shoes for donation.
  • Textiles to be recycled. 
  • Yarn donations to benefit those in need.

Raisin Region Conservation Authority Tree Giveaway:

  • The Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) has partnered with its member municipalities and neighbouring conservation authority, South Nation Conservation (SNC), for its 27th annual Tree Giveaway! 
  • Since 2000, nearly 65,000 free trees have been distributed in RRCA's jurisdiction in Cornwall and SDG, contributing to the over 1.3 million trees planted through the RRCA to date.
  • They will be distributing free trees on a first-come, first-served basis during the event!
