Water Conservation Coordinator

The City of Cornwall is seeking a pro-active leader for the role of Water Conservation Coordinator for the Environmental Services Department. Our ideal candidate will be well versed in progressive leadership, transparent communication and developing positive relationships within a dynamic service organization.

Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services, will be part of a team providing support to the Environmental Services Department primarily on planning and implementing water conservation initiatives including a leadership role in the implementation of the universal water meter installation throughout the municipality. The Water Conservation Coordinator will provide technical support as well as public educational and promotional activities for water conservation programs, support customer service improvement and continuous improvement initiatives. The Water Conservation Coordinator will also assist the Manager of Environmental Services with various studies, program analyses and assessments relating to water conservation initiatives.

Our ideal candidate will possess minimum post-secondary 3 year Civil, Environmental or Mechanical diploma or equivalent education and experience; have knowledge of relevant Provincial regulations and Municipal bylaws; demonstrate ability in customer service, communication, teamwork, initiative/self-management and accountability and flexibility/adaptability; demonstrate professional attitude and able to work both independently and with a team with competencies including results/achievement focus; must be pproficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point and be able to disseminate large data sets utilizing data processing software such as MS Excel to identify trends and irregularities; must possess strong communication skills (verbal & written), excellent interpersonal, organizational & public relations and be a self starter. The successful candidate must have a valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License in good standing and must be able lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. This position will occasionally be required to work evenings to attend public information or environmental services engagement events.

The City of Cornwall offers a competitive starting annual salary of $65,300 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
