Each year, Council considers the needs of the community, service levels, and legislated responsibilities as it sets the operating and capital budgets for the City of Cornwall.

Council has identified community consultation and participation as key priorities. Town Hall Meetings have been implemented to allow an open dialogue between residents and Council for a free exchange of ideas and information in an informal atmosphere.

This year, the City of Cornwall will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting for the 2024 Budget on Monday, January 29, 2024, starting at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at City Hall, 360 Pitt Street, Second Level, in Cornwall. This will give non-profit and charitable organizations an opportunity to submit their funding requests and residents an opportunity to provide their opinions and ideas on the 2024 Budget to Council.

Each registered participant will have three minutes to speak.

The purpose of this Town Hall Meeting is for Council to receive funding requests, opinions and ideas for consideration in the 2024 Budget.  Please note that no decisions will be made at this Town Hall Meeting. Rather, Council will meet to deliberate the Budget on Tuesday, January 30 and Wednesday, January 31, 2024.  These Special Council Meetings, as all Council Meetings, are open to the public and will be held in the same location beginning at 3:00 p.m. on both days.
