Survey Crew Assistant

All students must be full time day students at a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and be returning to full time attendance in fall of 2020.

Students must meet the basic requirements of the position. Should you be offered the position, with the City of Cornwall, you will be required to submit verification of school status.

Hours: Monday – Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM 40 hours per week


  • Assist surveyors and provide quality and quantity assurance for crack sealing work;
  • Assist surveyors lay-out appropriate features for construction of capital projects;
  • Record detailed information for future projects with survey instruments;
  • To be knowledgeable of all City of Cornwall Policies and other relevant legislations, TSSA Standards, Health & Safety etc.;
  • To be a representative of the City of Cornwall and maintain outstanding public relations skills and professional image at all times;
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: (documentation to be provided at time of application unless indicated not required)

  • College or University level education in Civil Engineering or equivalent field;
  • Experience with use of survey equipment and construction activities; Documentation not required
  • Must have Class G Drivers License;
  • Must provide a Drivers Abstract;
  • Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Record Check), at the candidate's own expense
