Resident Care Aid

The Glen Stor Dun Lodge, our Municipal long-term care home, is currently recruiting for temporary Rapid Antigen Testers. The Glen Stor Dun Lodge is a non-profit organization governed by the Fixing Long-Term Care Act of the Province of Ontario and falls under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC).

Overview

Reporting to the Resident Care Supervisor, Resident Care Aids (RCA) provide assistance to Personal Support Workers in tasks such as;

  • Take orders for residents, assist with feeding/ helping in dining room
  • Simple personal care: clean residents’ hands pre meals and clear resident’s hands and face post meal, clean eyewear
  • Transport residents to and from the dining room, onsite programs, or internal appointments
  • Make beds and tidying resident rooms
  • Clean and disinfect tubs after baths
  • Assist with sanitizing high touch surfaces
  • Be second person for 2-person transfer
  • Assist PSW with Snack and nutrition cart
  • Put away Laundry
  • Deliver supplies throughout the home and restock rooms and supplies
  • Resident Observation
  • Answer call bells
  • Provide one-on-one visit with resident (mitigate potential social isolation)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Glen Stor Dun Lodge offers a competitive starting wage of $20.30 per hour plus 4% in lieu of vacation.
