Planning Student
Number of positions: 1
All students must be full time day students at a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and be returning to full time attendance in fall of 2023.
Students must meet the basic requirements of the position. Should you be offered the position, with the City of Cornwall, you will be required to submit verification of school status.
Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. May be required to attend occasional evening meetings.
Hourly Wage: $20.00 per hour
Term: 4 months, May to end of August
Responsibilities:
- To conduct Special Planning based studies / research, as identified by the Division
- To attend meetings to assist full-time staff at the Planning Advisory & Hearing Committee (PAC), Committee of Adjustment (COA), and the Waterfront Committee for example
- General Planning assistance to the public on primary questions related to development
- Assist Development Planner with the review of Statistics Canada’s recent data in conjunction with the update of the 2023 Data Book
- Assist in continuing to file and record various Planning records
- Other Planning duties as assigned over the summer
Qualifications: (documentation to be provided at time of application unless indicated not required)
- Post-secondary student in an accredited Planning Program
- Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, at the candidates own expense (not required for application, applicable upon offer of role)
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two doses) at the time of interview
