Overview

Reporting to the General Manager, Financial Services and Treasurer, the Insurance and Risk Management Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and organization of all insurance related activities. As the Insurance and Risk Management Coordinator your primary responsibility will be the handling of claims against the City. This involves providing a central point of contact relative to the claims management process - investigating, evaluating, and processing. You will be an essential part of coordinating and assisting with document preparation for the renewal of the various insurance coverage policies for the Corporation. Also important is the ability to establish effective working relationships with City staff, the City’s adjusters and insurers, lawyers, the public, and outside agencies. As this position is responsible for the professional administration of private and sensitive information, the role will also require high levels of integrity, trust, and values.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • A graduate from a post-secondary program (diploma or degree) in Business Administration or related field or have a combination of equivalent education, job-related training, and work experience in a related position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge within the area of claims and risk management with proven analytical, communication, report writing, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when interacting with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Bilingualism in both official languages will be considered an asset.

The City of Cornwall offers a starting salary of $66,810 annually at 35 hours per week. The City also includes a comprehensive benefits package.
