General Manager, Infrastructure and Municipal Works

 The City seeks an accomplished leader to serve as the General Manager of Infrastructure and Municipal works who will continue to be a champion of building community and organizational best practices in delivering services to the local community.

Reporting to the CAO, the General Manager of Infrastructure and Municipal Works provides leadership to a broad portfolio of City departments including Infrastructure Planning, Municipal Works, Environmental Services and Cornwall Transit.  The General Manager will work collaboratively with the supportive team to administer an annual operating budget of $50 million and direct the advancement of approximately $26 million in capital projects annually.  The ability to work with both elected officials of all levels of government and with the people of the community will also be essential aspects of this role

Over the course of the next several years this role will also be instrumental in leading the city in $2 billion in asset management with focus being given to developing a plan to extend the life of the existing landfill and determining future waste disposal needs of the community, overseeing the secondary raw water intake project, and researching the feasibility of a possible transformation of our wastewater treatment plant into a resource recovery facility.

 As an ideal candidate, you will be a role model for the City of Cornwall values of leadership, integrity, collaboration, inclusiveness, and diversity while publicly advancing the benefits of sustainability.  Your ten years of progressive leadership experience is also coupled with a license issued by the Professional Engineers of Ontario or equivalent. Rounding out your experience, will be your exceptional communication and decision-making skills along with a proven track record in developing others in both a critical skill and leadership development. Demonstrated ability to speak in public, report writing and with Cornwall’s rich history in both official languages, bilingualism will be considered an asset.
