Finance Manager and Deputy Treasurer

The City of Cornwall is seeking a dynamic, accomplished leader for the role of Finance Manager and Deputy Treasurer for Financial Services. Reporting to the General Manager of Financial Services and Treasurer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and control of the operation of accounting and financial systems including accounts payable, accounting, payroll, and budget. 

Equally important will be your comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices, provincial legislation, and tax laws. As the Finance Manager and Deputy Treasurer, you will be a role model and champion for transparent communication, adaptability, teamwork and developing positive relationships throughout the organization. You will be responsible for upholding the City of Cornwall’s values of leadership, integrity, collaboration, inclusiveness, and diversity.

Our preferred candidate will have a University degree or college diploma in business, commerce, accounting, or finance and a minimum of five (5) years leadership and accounting experience, with a CMA or CPA designation being an asset. Your background will include excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills, vast experience working with and leading a strong team, comprehensive report writing, and advanced level computer skills (spreadsheet, word processing, presentation software). Bilingualism will be considered an asset.
