Environmental Summer Student

Number of positions: 1

All students must be full time day students at a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and be returning to full time attendance in fall of 2020.

Students must meet the basic requirements of the position. Should you be offered the position, with the City of Cornwall, you will be required to submit verification of school status.

Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 40 hours per week


  • Assist with compiling information for the Energy Efficiency Report;
  • Develop a computer model for Consumption Based water billing;
  • Assist the Solid Waste Supervisor with the evaluation of the Multi-residential Waste Diversion Program;
  • Update various departmental databases;
  • To be a representative of the City of Cornwall and maintain outstanding public relations skills and professional image at all times;
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: (documentation to be provided at time of application unless indicated not required)

  • College or University in Environmental field or Engineering field;
  • Keen Knowledge of databases;  Documentation not required
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Documentation not required
  • Must have Class G Drivers License;
  • Must provide a Drivers Abstract;
  • Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Record Check), at the candidate's own expense
