River Institute Provides Update
On December 8, Council listened to the River Institute Annual Update, presented by executive director Dr. Jeff Ridal, and program lead/research scientist Matt Windle. Ridal noted that one of the most exciting occurrences for the year was the expansion of the facility itself, an environmental DNA laboratory that supports a core theme of the research done in Cornwall.

The City of Cornwall is pleased to welcome six new physicians to the community as part of the municipality’s Medical Recruitment Programs and Great River, Great Future recruitment campaign.

Long-term Financial Plan Presented
On November 24, Council received a presentation of the 2025 Long-Term Financial Plan. Bruce Peever, from KPMG LLP, delivered the overview of the plan, which reflects the long-term capital, operating, staffing, revenue sources, and reserve funds needs of the City. Long-term plans map out expenditures, helping municipalities achieve the goals in their Strategic Plan over a longer term.
