Notice of 2nd Public Information Centre Cornwall Business Park - Road Corridor and Sanitary Service Extension Environmental Assessment
The City of Cornwall is undertaking two Municipal Class Environmental Assessments (MCEA); the first MCEA pertains to the extension of roads throughout the proposed expansion of the Business Park, while the second MCEA pertains to servicing the same area with sanitary sewer.
The Road Corridor Project is being planned in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) process as a Schedule C activity. As a result, the City is carrying out Phase 1 (Identify the Problem or Opportunity), Phase 2 (Identify Alternative Solutions and Establish the Recommended Solution), Phase 3 (Identify and Evaluate Alternative Design Concepts), and Phase 4 (Environmental Study Report) of the MCEA planning process for this project.
The Sanitary Servicing Project is being planned in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) process as a Schedule B activity. As a result, the City is carrying out Phase 1 (Identify the Problem or Opportunity) and Phase 2 (Identify Alternative Solutions and Establish the Preferred Solution) of the MCEA planning process for this project.
A key component of the MCEA process is consultation with interested stakeholders and the public, and we want to hear from you. The City has completed the Public Information Centre No. 1 in August 2023, which identified problems/opportunities and described the evaluation of alternative solutions. You are now invited to the Public Information Centre (PIC) No.2, where a revised recommended alternative solution and alternative design concepts for the Road Corridor Project will be presented, as well as the preferred wastewater servicing. The PIC will provide the public and agencies with an opportunity to provide their input on the recommendations. The PIC will be held as an informal “Open House” format with materials pertaining to the study on display and members of the project team on hand to answer questions and discuss issues related to the project.
