Road limits reduced March 15 - May 6

UPDATE as of May 3, 2019:

Half-load restrictions will remain in effect until May 10 or 13.

Restrictions are being maintained due to continued cold temperatures and significant rain events.

The City of Cornwall, in conjunction with partners in Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry, will continue to monitor the weather and roads to ensure restrictions are removed as soon as it is safe to do so.

Please take notice that, under authority of By-law No. 069-1989 and amendments, reduced road limits are in effect from March 15, 2019 to May 6, 2019 on select streets in the City of Cornwall.

Weather conditions will be monitored and the date that reduced loads are removed may change. Please monitor www.Cornwall.ca for updates.

The following streets will see reduced road limits:

  • South Branch Road from Pitt Street to Boundary Road
  • Cornwall Centre Road from Pitt Street to St. Andrews Road (Highway 138)
  • Cornwall Centre Road from Brookdale Avenue to Municipal Landfill Site entrance
  • McConnell Avenue from South Branch Road to Highway 401
  • Richmond Drive from Vincent Massey Drive North to City limit
  • Boundary Road from South Branch Road to Highway 401
