City Requests Donations for Paramedics and Lodge Staff

The City of Cornwall is requesting donations to help protect Cornwall SDG Paramedics and Glen Stor Dun Lodge staff.

Much-needed items include:

  • One-size fits all, non-breathable, long-sleeved, 4ml plastic disposable gowns
  • One-size fits all, semi-permeable long sleeved, disposable woven gowns
  • One-size fits all surgical masks
  • One-size fits all face shields
  • One-size fits all goggles
  • 3M 1870, 3M 1870+, 3M 1860 and 3M 1860s N95 respirators

Groups looking to donate items should contact Deputy Chief Wayne Markell at 613-551-7340 or wmarkell [at] cornwall.ca.

“Acquiring personal protective equipment has been a challenge for everyone across the province,” said Mayor Bernadette Clement. “We are grateful for the donations we have received so far, which send a strong message to our frontline staff: we truly are all in this together.”

PPE donors include United Steel Workers Canada Local 13292, South Glengarry Fire, St Lawrence College, Canadian Tire, Children’s Aid Society, ICOR Technology, La Cité Collégiale, The Ottawa Hospital, Morbern, Walker Climate Care/the Champlain LHIN, Centre de santé Communautaire de l’Estrie, and JF Markell Homes.

City of Cornwall purchasing staff are also working to acquire the protective equipment required by paramedics, personal support workers, and nurses.
