The City of Cornwall is searching for dedicated community members to serve on council committees.

Committees make recommendations to council. They are groups of people who investigate, consider, report, or act on matters.

 

Applications are being accepted to the following committees:

Compliance Audit Committee: members receive and make decisions on applications for compliance audits of campaign finances for council candidates and registered third party advertisers in a municipal election.

Who should apply? Community members with experience in finance or accounting and municipal policies.

 

Cornwall Planning Programs Evaluation Group: members evaluate and recommend applications for approval or otherwise to the City of Cornwall Planning Advisory Committee.

Who should apply? Community members with interest in urban settings or a background in planning.

 

Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee: members provide advice to council on an annual basis about the preparation, implementation, and effectiveness of the Accessibility Plan for the City of Cornwall.

Who should apply? Five members from the disability community and three members who are community stakeholders.

 

Senior Friendly Community Plan Development Advisory Committee: members develop an implementation action plan to support seniors and people with dementia; to reduce organization, social, and physical barriers that prevent seniors from full engaging in community activities.

Who should apply? Community members who are seniors or who are passionate about seniors’ quality of life.

 

Transit Committee: members recommend strategies for the municipal transit service in the City of Cornwall, aiming at promoting and providing accessible, reliable, and affordable services to its citizens.

Who should apply? Community members who are transit users, including students.
