City of Cornwall Provides Update on Cornwall Arts Centre Progress
The City of Cornwall is pleased to provide a public update on the significant progress being made on the Cornwall Arts Centre, a project poised to become a cultural cornerstone for the community. The development, located at 159 Pitt Street, is on track to transform the former BMO bank building into a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose facility.
The project, which has been in the works since the 2011 Culturescape Report recommended the establishment of an arts and culture facility, has achieved major milestones thanks to strong community support. The "Be The Link" fundraising team surpassed its goal of raising $1 million in community donations to support the initiative.
"Progress on the Cornwall Arts Centre is well underway, and we're on track for a 2026 opening," says Lori Gibeau, Manager Parks and Recreation. "This facility will provide a much-needed home for arts and culture in our community, and we appreciate the public's continued support."
To give the public a unique perspective on this exciting project, a new drone video has been created. It provides a year-in-review of the construction progress. You can view the video here: September 2025 Arts Centre Progress Video.
The City of Cornwall thanks the community and its partners for their ongoing support as this landmark project moves closer to completion. Residents can also follow the Centre's progress by visiting the City’s website: Arts and Culture Centre.
