Launch of New Strategic Priorities Poster
The City of Cornwall is excited to announce the launch of its new Strategic Priorities "at a glance" poster, highlighting Council’s vision and key goals for the city's future development and prosperity. This visually engaging document is designed to clearly communicate collective objectives and inspire community involvement.
Katherine Wells, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Priorities, remarked, “Council’s strategic priorities have set a strong foundation for Cornwall’s growth and prosperity. I am proud of the progress we’ve made so far, particularly in areas such as Truth and Reconciliation, infrastructure, and housing.”
Passed by the Council at the beginning of 2024, these priorities have already led to significant advancements, including:
- Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan: Initiatives are underway to address historical injustices and build a more inclusive community.
- Mayor’s Task Force on Medical Recruitment: Efforts are being made to attract and retain healthcare professionals to improve local healthcare services.
- Investments in Core Infrastructure and Housing: Enhancements to our city’s infrastructure and housing developments ensure sustainable growth and better living conditions for all residents.
Notably, the Council’s priorities play a critical role in shaping how the City of Cornwall prepares its budget. With the 2025 budget meetings underway in November, these strategic goals are being integrated to ensure that funding aligns with the vision for the future.
The City of Cornwall is committed to working together with the community to achieve these ambitious goals. For more detailed information, please refer to the Strategic Plan available on the City’s website.
