Celebrate Black History Month in Cornwall

Cornwall City Council has proclaimed February as Black History Month in our community.

In celebration of this international observance, all can enjoy a month of free events thanks to Le réseau de soutien à l’immigration francophone de l’est de l’Ontario, l’Association canadienne-française de l’Ontario de SDG and the Cornwall Public Library.

February 1 to 28 at the Library (45 Second Street East)
African and Caribbean art exposition, promotion of books by black authors

Sunday, February 3 at 10 a.m. at Nativité (220 Montreal Road)
Chorale Saint-Gabriel from the Burundi community

Monday, February 18 at 11 a.m. at the Library
Intergenerational dance and percussion activity

Sunday, February 24 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Library
African Storytime – Immerse your child, aged 2 to 14, in the wonderful world of African stories. The stories will be read in French and English. Presented in partnership with the African Caribbean International Association of Eastern Ontario.
