Three Athletes Receive Ontario Winter Games Legacy Award

Posted On Tuesday August 11, 2020

Mayor Bernadette Clement safely presented awards to three deserving students on Monday, August 10.

Annika Setterington, Nicholas Oeggerli, and Nicholas Guindon each received a $1,000 bursary and commemorative plaque. They are being recognized for their athletic achievements, leadership, community involvement, need, and academic achievement.

“It was inspiring to meet each of these accomplished recent graduates,” said Mayor Clement. “I am so proud to recognize their achievements on behalf of my colleagues on council.”

Typically, Ontario Winter Games Legacy Award recipients attend a council meeting to receive their award, sign the Book of Recognition, and meet council. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year’s plaque presentations took place in the Mayor’s office at a safe distance.
